When you buy a bike, you think of quite a few different things: the material it's made of, the reputation of the manufacturer, the way it rides, and to be honest, the way it looks. When I bought my Guru Crono from Jack and Adam's in Austin, I spent five hours trying different bikes, different wheelsets, and fiddling with adjustments to get the bikes as close as I could in all ways except the frame. I settled on the Crono because it was, quite simply, the best bike I had ridden in 30 years of riding, including seasons of bike racing and six Ironman triathlons. It accelerated, it was soft and smooth, it was so responsive. Had someone tried to tell me this in advance, I wouldn't have believed them. But when I rode it, I found myself smiling and shaking my head - truly, I did - on a backroad of Austin, because I just didn't know a bike could feel like that. |
